Message in a bottle- shells, sand and treasure

A cryptic message in the after life of mid life

Looking back at the legends, we molded with our minds

Hunting for the truths, in the oceans of time

We feel each and every tide, wash across our feet

Taking away the broken shells, leaving us complete

We denounce what we choose to forget

And hide it beneath the seaweed, where

it sleeps, in the deep, recesses, until a storm

blows in and to our eyes it seeps,

It ripples down our face the sea-salts

burn our cheeks

We savor it for awhile, the variety of life

makes us weep

An interlude of pain where there is

nothing we can gain

We shove it in a bottle

and send it back from where it came
